TE/DE Lawrence Wilson was on his official visit to Ohio State this weekend. How did it go for this rising Ohio prospect? Duane Long has the latest.
Lawrence Wilson of Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary returned home from his official visit to Ohio State earlier today. How did the trip go?
"It went really well," he said. "The skull session was great... Devin Jordan hosted me the first night and Jay Richardson hosted me the second night. So I stayed with a receiver and a defensive end and got to see it from both sides."
Wilson, of course, can play either tight end or defensive end in college. Most project him as a defensive end, but it is not yet decided as far as Wilson is concerned.
"As far as what position I play, it's up to me," he said.
It sounds like Wilson is close to deciding.
"I went to Notre Dame last weekend," he said. "I might go to Pitt the weekend after next, but I could decide before then."
What are some things working in the favor of Ohio State?
"Location is a big factor," Wilson said. "Ohio State is a lot closer. When I look at the scheme, I think I would fit right in."
