DE Keith Wells (Columbus State; transfer to Ohio Dominican)

The Irish have gained his attention by asking him to remove football from the equation and to consider which degree is most impressive.
If "impressive degree" is all Keith should consider, then I'm sure Harvard has an open spot on their roster for him. If ND has to resort to implying "forget how bad we suck on the field, look how good we are in the classroom", that just shows how desperate they are...

The Domers have really lacked in developing defensive talent. Now if he was
a TE..........................................:tongue2:

They've certainly lacked in RECRUITING defensive talent, particularly DL, but Derek Landri and Trevor Laws look like they'll be productive on Sundays for a while. Ndukwe looks like he could start for the Bengals too, sooner rather than later.

And NO, I'm not trying to say ND is God's gift to coaching, and that we'll be cranking out 1st rounders every year from here on out, but I'm just sayin', we aren't completely devoid of talent. But we are definitely still a work in progress.

Let me just say this: some of the Irish fans are starting to get delusional, so brace yourselves if you haven't already. I've even had some say that its "probable" we end up with Wells, even though we're in 3rd place in a 3 horse race. *Sigh* Delusions of grandeur I'm afraid...

Anything is possible on a visit, but I'm not holding my breathe here. I've even heard that Mom doesn't like the 3-9 record thing, and usually its the parents that help us hold on to guys we otherwise wouldn't get (i.e. Dieon Walker). Unless he still ends up visiting and the staff pulls out all the stops for him, I think he's a Buckeye.
