The only problem is that Oregon gets the ball out so quickly. So while he may not have any sacks, having several QB hurries will be a success.

Would love to see Joey develop a killer spin move or really work on that Reggie White "swim-rip" move and become an all-time type of Dlineman. His bull rush is sick and his speed puts him on another level. If he could develop an advanced rush move he might be HOF caliber. Probably have to stay his senior year or break the sack records for HOF but it'd be something to see.

I meant to post this yesterday, but even though Joey didn't have a signature play or compile eye - popping stats, I think he played one of his best games on Monday night. I consistently saw him breaking through double teams and controlling the LOS on his side. Really excited to watch him play another year.

A big play that didn't show up in the stat sheet was on 3rd down in red zone on the series that we stopped them on 4th down.
He got penetration forcing Mariotta to go deep and wide on the sweep. This allowed our LBs and Safeties to flow to the sideline and tackle him setting up the 4th and 3. If he doesn't get penetration, Mariotta gets the edge quickly and might score.

Speaking of Mariota and Ohio State, the former Ducks QB took a selfie with Buckeyes defensive end Joey Bosa at the Walter Camp Award dinner. If you remember, Bosa was the one who delivered the big hit on Mariota in the title game that got Oregon’s offensive linemen all upset. Good to see there are no hard feelings.

The Bosa combo would be the best brother combo in my lifetime at OSU (off the top of my head)...Zach and Justin never truly played together and I knew Mickey and Mike would be different sports (aside from Mike transferring). Seeing Joey and Nick come off the edges for one season in Columbus would be incredible. But in a more realistic realm, I am just beside myself that we get one more year of Joey in Columbus as the bare minimum. Favorite defensive player we have had here since Jenkins/Hawk.
