Me either, dear lord I did not expect this one at all. The "unfinished business" has to ring true for this team and the cards are on the table to make it happen. Someone corrected me that the only goal is to beat ttun, and I completely agree. All resources should be allocated at making that happen. However, if we win The Game, I have a feeling the rest will fall into place. Day & Co. have been ruthless this offseason and I love it. This defense is going to be a nightmare to everyone.

Too soon old, too late smart
Now we've got a very solid Dline. Hope don't lose any D players who are now officially frustrated they aren't getting more minutes. Believe we've gone from what was to be a very young team, to one that's got alot of seasoned players at key positions. Now, if Day can only rope in some good OLine folk. Opined in another post that oughta recruit Bama's OL coach, have him bring Proctor and Caleb Downs with him....maybe give him a recruiting bonus? PS, anyone know what kinda NIL JTT is gonna get?

The players are back and motivated…who is going to coach these kids hard? Who will be calling plays? Who is torching the oline every day to become glass eaters?

Too soon old, too late smart
While having nine starters back on D is truly several steps up the ladder, and a few very talented recruits going to don the scarlet and gray in January (seems like most already in class), I'm looking down the road a year or so, and can't help but notice that the 'sandwich classes' (those that are between the current slice of bread, and those coming in this year will discourage the ones that have had one or two years of coaching, seasoning, and learning the system. Guess we'll have to wait to see how many go portal, and who guts it out for their turn. Also guess how the 'Xichigan way' (what with 44 seniors?) will leave as residue on next year's team. Even if Hairball stays (give it 30-70 against), how much cachet will he have to dip his beak into the portal and capture alot of really good players for his next year team. Stay tuned.
