DE Jaylahn (JT) Tuimoloau (Owner, Giant Erector Set, All B1G)

Just to nip this in the bud, Ohio State is not running third to Bama and Oregon like the brainiac at Rivals claims (the same guy who had Egbuka deciding between Washington and Oklahoma the night before his announcement).

Their trading of clicks in exchange for actual recruiting info is as pathetic as it is predictable.
General consensus seems to be Ohio State out front, but by how much who knows because he’s so quiet, with Bama making a run down the stretch.

Ellis on 11W has said he’s on the Ohio State class group chat and he’s been more active lately, for what it’s worth.

I just appreciate that other people take the time to monitor and summarize these things.

Let’s check in with the top West Coast insider and the only person Tuimoloau talks to and see what he thinks, shall we?

I can tell you with 1000% certainty, Ohio State remains the team to beat with JTT. Alabama is their toughest competition.

He’ll drop a top 5 very soon, both will be in it and this is, as I’ve maintained for months, an Ohio State-Alabama battle right now. Oregon is by no means out, but I know for a fact, tOSU is very much in an envied position.'

We really need this kid... look at Alabama's class and it's got I think 6 five stars but more strikingly 4 are on the LOS.

Our class for example has a QB/WR/RB/OL/DL so it's a little more spread out. I'm a big believer of you have to own the trenches in the playoff games so it's important not to fall too far behind there.

If they land JT for example theyll have two of the top DTs and both the #1/#2 OTs to to along with a top rated defensive end. Their defensive line haul would be disgusting with JT and would cause issues for us at OL where we arent recruiting at the level of Alabama.

JT is a bigger need than we think IMO.

A) Rivals has REALLY gone off the rails of late. Not really sure why they’ve collectively embraced this “slant” but this disinformation ploy has gotten old fast.

B) ANYTHING that pertains to Farrell or Gorney should be IMMEDIATELY dismissed.

They lost all their talent to the Scoop and decided to turn heel on the OSU fan base for clicks because providing real insight into situations is no longer an option for them.

The scoop sucks too..IMO Letterman row is far and away the best followed by bucknuts.

I will follow Birm to whatever place he goes. He treats the players with respect and has their trust, he clearly has an in with the coaching staff, and his work values being informative over being clickbait. He's the only guy I follow, and I've never been out of the loop.

I really agree this is a huge get for us if we can finish. But I also don’t want to act like our destiny is decided by 5 stars. So many 4 stars and even lesser guys who can and will be developed, and there’s 5 star guys who may never turn into difference makers.

Sucks to see Bama cleaning up like they are but at the end of the day whether we finish 1 or 2 in recruiting class, the difference is negligible. It will come down to who can squeeze the most out of the absurd talent they are bringing in. I’ll take my chances with what the good guys have been doing, although I’d say the same about the Tide if I were a Bama fan.

For sure... and 1 recruit isn't but what stops a bevy of WRs and an elite offensive mind? A pass rush.

Whatever we can do to keep DL talent away from Alabama or Clemson the better.

Absolutely...

The Scoop and the rest will honestly be put out of business by Letterman row. They always have former Buckeyes on and more importantly Urban Meyer is behind them.

Enough about our media though lol...

IMO this kid is a must get.

Yeah. I align with your philosophy, build the trenches... it’s hugely critical. Getting JTT would be a massive coup. Just wanted to express something I’ve been stewing on as I see some living and dying with whether we beat Alabama in recruiting rankings.

What Emeka Egbuka gives Ohio State on field
Though he’s not played a senior season yet, Emeka Egbuka is a rare physical talent with home-run hitting ability every time he touches the football. He’s fast — running the 40-yard dash in less than 4.45-seconds — but smooth and well put together. Egbuka’s greatest asset on the outside is his body control, as he shows a unique ability to locate the football and adjust to it without losing speed.

Egbuka isn’t just a raw athletic talent, though. He’s incredibly productive and has amassed almost 4,000 yards receiving in his three years of high school football to go along with more than 60 scores. He can strike as a return man and would probably be an All-American defensive back if he allowed himself to focus on that side of the ball. Egbuka is also viable baseball prospect, but his future is all about football.

Strong, athletic and explosive, Egbuka can line up on the outside or in the slot and be equally dangerous. A cerebral, calculating talent, the 6-foot-1, 210-pound Egbuka is a player that some close to the Ohio State program have compared to current Washington Football Team star Terry McLaurin because of his athletic profile combined with his off-the-field characteristics.

“He can do a little bit of everything,” Steilacoom coach Colby Davies told Lettermen Row ahead of his decision. “He’s been a team leader since his freshman year and understands how important he is to our team. He’s the first in and last out type and he’s very coachable. He wants coaching.

“He chose Ohio State because he knows that Brian Hartline is going to coach the hell out of him. That’s what he wants. He wants to be the best and will work all day to make sure he is.”

There is going to be a lot of attention paid to Egbuka because of his recruiting profile, but he’s well-equipped to handle it and the plan to enroll early at Ohio State should make the transition easier. Expect to see this potential star moving around a lot during his freshman season, similar to the development track that the Buckeyes have laid out for 2020 top-ranked receiver Julian Fleming.
