DE Jay Richardson (FOX 28 CFB Analyst)

Richardson had a great game last night with 2 sacks and stuffing a couple of run plays for losses.

I think he goes in the 4th or 5th round with a good combine.

I think he's a cinch 1st-day pick (3rd-4th round).

Got to meet him and spend a few hours with him along with the other four Buckeyes making the trip here, and he's a down-to-earth nice guy (and he sure loves BBQ'd steak).

Milwood, considering the Kudla debacle last year (I know I was alot worse than you) I'm not gonna Jinx Jay, and will say he goes undrafted.

That being said, I wish the kid nothing but the best of luck, and do believe that he will have a job playing football on sundays this year.

Gotta love these 5th year kids. What a football experience they had in their time here, and what a great experience they gave to each and every one of us.

Keep tak'in care of the "Bucks" you encounter out there Mili, I'm sure that they, as well as I as a fan, really appreciate it. Peace.

what is really odd, had jay not been hurt he would have been a three year starter. remember his rs soph year he won the job and played the first six games before his knee injury. the kid played in 39 career games. hes got a nice combo of speed and size with his intelligence should find a role somewhere as a guy who can play a few postions at 6 6 280.

where he goes, these types of guys are really crap shoots. after a certain point bpa (best player avail) turns into a needs system.

I'd love to see Jay and Simon Fraser lined up next to each other for the next ten years or so. Simon came in here as an undrafted guy, worked his ass off on special teams, and will likely be a Brown for as long as he wants to be.

Jay has a ton of talent, all he needs is a chance, and I think he moved way forward with his performance on sunday.

Good career wrap-up piece on Jay.

Quick story: when we ran our HS basketball summer camps for the middle-school aged kids, the players and the coaches noticed Jay (probably about 5'10" at the time) and thought he was a decent athlete and had the potential to be tall. Fast forward a handful of years when some of the alums returned to campus, Jay was 6'6" and 240lbs... we were all shocked. They ran a drill where a coach would hand him the ball under the basket and he would dunk from a standstill over and over again. It was very impressive... that year alumni night was a Scioto-UA battle between Jay and Tim Schafer - which was also very cool.

Jay's a great kid, product of a great mother - I'll see him at church around the holidays. Best of luck to him, he still has the potential to play professionally, and he deserves a shot for being a good athlete AND (more importantly) a good person.

I've been told that Jay's mother is working on a book - the book is about being a parent of a prominent recruit, sharing their experience and, perhaps, offering advice to future parents of recruits. Could be very useful insight for parent/coaches in the future.
