I'm pretty sure Young said the loan was accepted the summer before his freshman year at OSU.This quote is key, important points bolded:
Chase had already been at OSU for over a year at the supposed time the load was made (2018). So there could be no inducing or encouraging him to use his services, or the recruitment or solicitation of him, seeing as he had already been there for a year and was already playing.

Oops, you're right. I read it wrong. Sorry, @MililaniBuckeyeHe said he met him the summer before but took the loan last year.
At the very least his lawyer approved the tweet (and/or drafted the message). I find it unlikely they did so without the knowledge of the compliance team. That Chase Young tweeted about this at all is puzzling. He's had a LOOOONG talk with Day and Smith (at least) by now about what happened.
How can they NOT have told him to keep his mouth shut and the tOSU sort it out in public? Or they somehow approved his tweet?
It's strange to see ANY info is coming from Chase, much less an admission of wrong, because he's got zero to gain.
Seriously, how can they not have stressed to Chase to not say anything?
The weird thing is why? Why say a word beyond: I'm sorry, I let the team down, my family, etc.... ????At the very least his lawyer approved the tweet (and/or drafted the message). I find it unlikely they did so without the knowledge of the compliance team.

It's like someone let this kid put his toes under the bus. A responsible attorney wouldn't suggest that, nor should representatives of tOSU.
I can't imagine what the strategy is with that tweet.
