The only thing that concerns me about this “family friend” that we all want to point at as not being a big deal is the timing. He got money from a friend that was never a friend until he was about to start at Ohio State. It’s not a family friend he grew up with and babysat him when he was five.

Edit: if it is discovered he was truly a family friend and not a booster/agent, then this is ridiculous. Pretty soon players won’t be able to get money from their parents.

Unless that "family friend" was an Ohio State booster or an agent, this seems like it should be able to be resolved fairly quickly.
