Most likely it just demonstrates that they know how to use a Twitter machine. I don't think anyone, including The Foundation, know what the fuck The Foundation is doing.

To keep the money flowing, I'm sure that they have to show their successes somehow, i.e. tweets. Otherwise those (over) 1000 accounts that make recurring donations would probably stop donating.

That's $120K they just added to The Fund IF they get them all to subscribe.
We just lost one guy for $750K
Only 6,000 or so more accounts away from one goddamned guy.

The school just needs 3 or 4 5 stars to make a difference. Doing it this way isn't out of line.

Strengths
Breaking It All Down
Arvell Reese has a crazy amount of potential with a great frame to add at least 15 more pounds of muscle. He was severely overlooked by most recruiting circles and not discussed enough as a possible impact player. Reese is a bonafide playmaker who will excel best when defensive coordinators turn him loose to seek and destroy. He can develop into a dominating outside linebacker or even has the length to play ta hybrid role — maybe even as a defensive end.Weaknesses
Breaking It All Down
Arvell Reese’s biggest weakness may be the coaching staff. He has the potential to play linebacker or a hybrid-type position at a very high level, but if he gets moved around too much or fails to develop, this could be another Baron Browning situation where there is still a ton of meat on the potential bone.Reese’s future will depend on how his body develops as well. He needs to add weight, but how much and how fast he adds it will determine his future. He also needs to develop a game plan as a pass rusher as he is used to just dominating with speed and length around the edge in high school.

Ohio State Freshman Arvell Reese Out For Remainder of Youngstown State Game
Ohio State freshman Arvell Reese will miss the rest of Ohio State's game against Youngstown State after suffering an injury on a first-quarter kickoff.
The freshman linebacker/defensive end suffered an injury after taking a hit on kickoff coverage, though he did eventually walk off the field under his own power.
Reese's status for next week is as of yet unclear.
Just sayin': They didn't disclose the nature of the injury. Hope he is all right.
