Congratulations Tyvis !! This kid is a Buckeye to the core, no doubt about it. It would really be great if Gordon Gee and Gene Smith could put their heads together and figure out that they need to remove that interim tag on Luke Fickell and give him a multi-year head coaching contract soon. Even without considering sanctions, anyone with a brain in their head can see that recruits, with rare exceptions, are going to be hesitant to commit to a coaching staff that might not be at Ohio State in 2012. Just think of the pressure on Luke and the younger members of our coaching staff to be one year coaches unless the team performs "well enough" in 2011 ??

Bingo, and he's well liked by the ohio high school coaches.

I would much rather suffer one sub-par recruiting class (and considering how well it's started off, we don't know whether it will even be "sub-par") and make sure that Luke is the right fit for the job than rush to sign him to a long-term deal in order to secure the stability of this class. Especially considering that this class will be much more affected by the sanctions that get passed down in August than it will whether or not Fickell is interim head coach or has a multi-year deal.

Congrats on the commitment Tyvis. Absolutely love seeing the true passion that this young man has for our institution. I know you're going to do great things in the S&G.
