DB Shaun Wade (1st Team All American, New England Patriots)

Of any kids who have recently had to make the choice, he's about as close to 50/50 for stay / go as I can recall. I do think that a year of being CB1 in this defense outweighs the opportunity cost associated with time value of money for the one year head start. I think he easily makes it up, sans injury, in second year of his rookie contract if he stays.

Either way, I don't envy the decision he has to make and I wish him all the best regardless of his choice.
I agree 100%

I think he can't go wrong either way but I think him being on the outside would really help him. Not to mention there's not many threats for him next year to be honest.

Have been keeping an eye on most recent mock drafts. Most have him as an early to mid 2nd. I personally see him as a late 1st rounder, maybe bc I realize how versatile and valuable he is to OSU, but when I look at the other 35-40 players they have going before him it makes sense. All it takes is for one organization to really like him.

I agree with everyone: He can't go wrong either way, but I don't think it can hurt his stock to show his capabilities as DB1 for another year on the outside against good competition, barring injury. It sure would be huge for this defense if he stayed.

I wouldn't blame him if he goes and gets paid. BUT..........................................

He will get the national recognition next year if he returns because he will be the lock down guy at DBU hence automatically drawing national media attention. After another year of being The Guy, he will be a definite first rounder.

Someone from Letterman Row is actually flying to Florida to stream this?

I mean, it's a pretty big deal. Having Wade again would be huge for this defense.

Ugh... announcing in his hometown means he's probably gone.

Last time I recall someone went to their hometown to announce a decision, it was Cardale going to Glenville to announce his return to Ohio State.

I may be reading tea leaves here but "strictly business" and "brought to you by LR" sounds like he's going pro and worked out his first deal.

I hope not as a fan but absolutely understand it if he does.
