Najee Murray and success go hand in hand. So does speed, and that's a big reason Buckeyes coaches have already found a way to put Murray on the field.
Murray helped Steubenville's 4x200-meter relay team win a state title at the track and field facility next door from the Woody Hayes Athletic Center at Ohio State in 2011 with a state-record time. He kept the quicks up through his senior season.
One of the top defensive backs for the Big Red, the 5-foot-9, 179-pound Murray led Steubenville to the state semifinals and a 12-2 record in 2009, and an 11-1 record and the regional semifinals in 2011.
As a senior, Murray recorded 54 tackles and was named first-team Division III All-Ohio. He was also named the Associated Press' Division III co-Defensive Player of the year in 2012.
In 2011, he led the Big Red with 17 receptions for 280 yards and had four touchdowns.
Murray opened the 2012 season for Ohio State with two tackles against Miami (Ohio) in a reserve role.
