najee returned the opening kickoff back 95 yards for a td tonight.

You guys will love Najee... There isn't a doubt in my mind. I know a player when I see one.

I was shocked back in the middle of the decade when Tressel and company showed absolutely no interest in Zach Collaros, who I thought was quite clearly the best player in the state... Probably his last two years of high school.

I guess OSU looked at his height and measurables and decided that he didn't quite meet the standard. Well, we've all seen how Collaros has done down south (he wanted to go to OSU more than anything, just like Najee).

Now, instead of making the same mistake, they toss the hype aside and take a real football player. Glad to see that they aren't making the same mistake of letting the best players around the state get away because of measurables.

Some kids just have 'it.' Najee is one of those.

Thanks. I like this kid a lot but haven't seen him in a game. Can just tell in highlights that he is a tough sob that plays the game hard.

Know he plays mostly as a safety for Steubenville. Hopefully he can play as a corner for us, would love someone like him playing the boundary.

Senior speedster Najee Murray got things started when he took the opening kickoff and traveled 95 yards to pay dirt. His run was a thing of beauty. He scooped up the ball on the right side of the field, sprinted to the other side, turned the corner and was gone. Sophomore Bryan Pierro helped pave Murray's way with a vicious block. Luke Smith nailed the point from placement.

Big Red has big 2nd half

Prather found six receivers in completing 12 of his 16 attempts. He had two scoring throws to speedy senior Najee Murray, one covering 13 yards and the other 25. The second was a thing of beauty as Murray made a diving grab in the end zone.

Steubenville snaps Massillon's win streak

Six plays later, Big Red had the lead as Marcus Prather hit Najee Murray perfectly in stride on a slant pattern for a 15-yard scoring strike. The point-after try gave Steubenville a 7-0 lead about four minutes into the game.

Big Red Blanks O'Hara 39-0

Big Red quarterback Marcus Prather was 7-of-10 passing for 104 yards, including a 43-yard touchdown pass to Ohio State recruit Najee Murray. Senior running back Jo Jo Pierro had two carries for 85 yards.

Big Red sends Redskins home

Big Red would score two more times in the opening half. One came on a 53-yard Prather to Najee Murray pass and the second when Prather hit Luke for 21 yards. The Luke score was set up by a Matt Petrella interception.

Najee is going to be special at tOSU. I'm very excited to watch him grow into a player. He is exactly the type of recruits we always get: Underrated, low-star Ohio recruits who we turn into All Big 10 players and future draft picks. I get to watch Najee today as they take on Youngstown Cardinal Mooney.

i get the same feeling from watching a najee murray video as i got from watching john simon's high school video. i can't give an ohio state commitment higher praise.

I was at the game and wow.. This dude is a stud on defense. He laid some very nasty hits. He's very quick, so I'm not sure why they wouldn't use him that much on offense. Can't wait for him in a couple of years to be a huge impact player.
