I'll be genuinely surprised if PSU offers. And that 4.29 40 at the Pittsburgh Scout combine is bunk...THERE IS NO WAY. Those 40 times can basically be thrown out from that combine, because of the electronic timing and bracelets they used before/after events to record. The only thing those #s are going to be good for will be comparing between kids at this single event, it won't stack up with other events.

Of note Turner 4.55, Jones 4.88, Ifill 4.38, J.T. Moore 5.16, Kenny Wilkens 4.74 Mike Hull 4.5 Doran Grant 4.37

The problem with Chad Hagan is that he didn't play as a sophomore, and it is hard to tell where he fits at the collegiate level. I'm not convinced he has the natural skills to be an every down RB, but he could play RB...could play LB, could play S...more of an ATH right now and not necessarily a football player that is instinctive or destined for one position. Definitely not a no-brainer.

------------
Don't want to take the thread way off topic, but Turner definitely had a monster day...heard nothing but great things about him. He is going to be a terror for the majority of OTs in college. Some players you just know will be impressive collegiate football players, Turner fits the bill every which way.

Mike Hull showed up very impressively (physically) at 6'1 209. Already 4* on rivals but they said he wasn't big enough to be rivals 100, which is funny because I can count at least 20 + LBs in the last 4-5 classes that were rivals 100, and all 20 were shorter and weighed less then Hull. Bob L. said if he isn't a 5*, he'll be a high 4* throughout. Expect a big senior year on the field from him since he didn't wrestle his junior year, should really be rejuvenated after getting a break from football, wrestling, baseball, and his daily workouts.

Paul Jones impressed as well, threw very well. He was supposed to make a trip back to PSU at the end of the month because a lot of key prospects will be up, but he'll instead be in Columbus (OH) for the Scout 7-on-7, representing PA. Bob L. may very well be blowing smoke, but he has said that PJ WILL be a 5* prospect on scout (already 4* on both scout/rivals - rivals 100 prospect), if not in this latest update, the next one....and he is a Pitt homer so that makes me feel good. Good luck with Montana.

The numbers from Scout's combines are notoriously off. And I mean WAY off. They can't even get the heights and weights right half the time. It's not as well done as the Nike combines. They always have kids running 4.2s at that thing and then later it's found out the kid is nowhere near that fast. Put it this way, if that kid ran a 4.29 at 200+ pounds, he would have offers coming from everywhere. Even Pitt hasn't offered him.

Grades and general football skills are no longer things that coaches look for in prospects? That's an interesting shift in recruiting.

And if he wasn't legitimately fast, there would be others posting similar numbers at that combine. As evidenced above he was clearly among the fastest at the combine.

BN$--Big Developments With Hagan

Chad says Coach Fickell told him an offer was coming once they receive his test score. The Buckeyes are his favorite followed by PSU and Pitt.

Is he being recruited for defense? Seems like they are in good shape with Roderick Smith and I'm guessing still in the thick of things for Spencer Ware and Corey Brown so I would be surprised to see another RB offer going out.
