DB Isaiah Pryor (transfer to Notre Dame)

The trend is still zone spread run offenses though. I'd never want to see our defense turn into a one dimensional entity like Alabama, Arkansas or LSU. I'd like to see Pryor turn into darron Lee type LB, who can play in space and destroy RBs or WRs. I never want to see OSU play for only B1G teams, but set our team up to play the best in the nation, and scUM and PSU ain't that. And I'd hate to develop a defense around defending one team in our conference
I can see that... I'd like to see us with a obvious run support safety and then a obvious coverage specialist as well. Someone like Pryor at 230 as a safety and then another safety in the 200 range but can cover deep

Which Mays was.
Oh for sure he was... I was just remembering Taylor Mays properly first before acknowledging how talented he was.

Bottom line, if he keeps that size and speed he would give us extra size that we desperately need when playing msu, scum, Iowa, PSU, and even teams like Alabama or Stanford. That'd be huge to essentially be dropping a 4th linebacker into the box when we want the extra support.

I remember when OSU played USC and Taylor Mays threw Terrell Pryor down like a rag doll and TP was a big guy. At 6'5 230 Mays was a load for safety. Wouldn't mind seeing that size back there.
Thats a great watch on YouTube, but when it came down to it, Mays was terrible in coverage. And many bigger Safeties are with the sole exception being Sean Taylor. With teams running more spread concepts, last thing a coach would want is his over sized S missing a kill shot on a slot WR or RB in space and getting burned. I much rather have ball hawks and kids that can play center field at S, and athletes that can fight for the ball in open field and make sound tackles. If Pryor can do that then keep him at S, but if he keeps growing and doesn't lose much speed, then he'll make a lot of plays at SLB. Lee had no problem with the move and neither did Worley or Bogard(in his few plays).
