DB Eugene Clifford (official thread)

Unless I missed it in a follow-up post, all Duane said was that OSU is in "good shape" with Clifford, per a couple of his sources. Although that could mean that OSU leads, I don't think that is what it necessarily means. Regardless, OSU seems to be in better shape than they were a few months ago.

Rivals $ (Ohio Varsity)

2/7

Eugene attended one of tOSU's junior days a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed it. He really liked JT. Says he grew up a big Buckeye fan, but an offer wouldn't necessarily lead to an early commit.

Wow, that paints a completely different picture than what we have been hearing [scum lock]. I had never heard that he grew up a big Buckeye fan.

I would love to see us cleanup in Cincy this year.....

Rats! You beat me to it GB19. You are correct- we HAD been hearing that he was a big scUM fan growing up. This certainly gives me a better feeling on this fella, as far as getting him in this next class goes. He's definetly a kid I want in this next class too. Plays multiple positions, great size, awesome athleticism... makes a great Tressel kid. Oh yeah- plus he's from Colerain

Speaking of which, have you talked to him recently, H&G?

I thought it was kind of odd that Clifford didn't make the initial Rivals top 100 list, but Oliver did. Hey, I love that the guy that verballed to us already is held in high regard, but like H&G said, 8 TD's on the year from non-offensive positions is downright impressive. I can't imagine a better safety pair of recruits than Oliver and Clifford, who both sound like top 10 recruits on a national level for the safety position.

I think Clifford has the potential to be a 5 star guy. That really surprised me with him not being on either rivals or scout pre-eval top 100. Of course, that can change real quickly.

Physically speaking, he sounds like Sean Taylor. 6'2 190ish with room to add weight, with some real wheels. If you had to describe the ideal safety prospect physically, he would pretty much hit the mark.

most likely they haven't evaluated him yet, alot of names have been dropped from the first prev eval list to the second that came out the other day. Dionte Allen wasn't on the first top 100 list, and now he's a Junior All American. I expect Clifford the same type of rise through the rankings. Hopefully the bucks can get this kid, I am skeptical but hopeful :)
