DB Eugene Clifford (official thread)

No way Clifford sticks for 4 years!

Good call. But seriously, this sucks. Gene had a ton of talent and he was the player I was most excited about in the '07 class, along with Saine. However, he never seemed to have any motivation to give what it takes to help this team out, so his talent does him no good here. He has been in trouble even before he got to campus and never got out. Hopefully he can put it all back together and re-surface somewhere.

I'm glad this is finally over. I don't feel one bit sorry for the guy. He got in a fight and smoked weed. Not sure how he's the victim of anything. It would be nice to see him disciplined and make something of his football talent but I'm not counting on it. It's nice to move on. I like what I saw from Nate Oliver in the spring game. Now he'll get some more reps.

Funny, ESPN hasnt made a huge splash yet.

Sad to see talent go to waste, I hope he gets back on track.

Weekend and it hasn't been picked up yet by most other publications (Columbus media and such). It'll hit Monday morning and the hater comments on ESPN will be fun to laugh at.

What do you mean by, "Big splash?" They'll probably post a story about it and nothing more. I mean, is there any reason why they shouldn't?

It will be a small portion on the college football part of espn's site. That's about it. It's no different then any other college team having someone who isn't a big time player.

Heck this could even be his 4th or 5th strike. :(

I think what he means by "big splash" is that other schools seem to have these little problems, and the when we have a little problem it becomes a BIG problem. Blown way out of proportion by ESPN, and others. Remember Art, remember crazy old Maurice, remember that mustached guy who was looking to score.........

Just haters in my opinion, and now I can die happy because I used "haters" in a sentence!!

I really hate reading this about a Buckeye. He has made his bed. The only good thing is someone else will benefit from his absence in the fall. Hate to win a spot by default but... Will this mean another scholarship is available this year?
