Weather delays signing of defensive back

Eugene Clifford had hoped to be the first player to sign a national letter of intent with Ohio State this morning, but the heavy snow that blanketed southwestern Ohio messed up those plans.
The Cincinnati Colerain defensive back, likely the most talented overall player in OSU's 2007 class, was waiting for his coach Tom Bolden to make it to his house by four-wheel drive truck with his letter of intent. Colerain, like most schools in the area, was closed for the day.

argh. can't connect to The Fan for some reason...

anyway, welcome to the Buckeye Family, Gene!

It doesnt matter, The Fan isnt even playing the press conference. It's all ads, some guy making fun of Bob Lichtenfels, and an overview of the class. Absolutely no audio.

It is interesting that they are looking at Clifford at CB. I would have thought that Clifford would have been a Safety or WR.

Per the OSU coaches press conference, Gene will get his first look at CB rather than safety. Clifford, Scott, Evege, Torrence at CB, Oliver and Pentello at S.

clifford gets first look at corner makes sense to me.
Few past buckeyes kept telling me he's the closest talent/size/speed wise to charles woodson from ohio in a long time.

It surprises me because I thought people said he didn't have the hips to be a corner and was more suited for safety.

who told you that???? Gene is the most naturally gifted player I have seen from SWO since I saw Mike Towsend (Cincinnati Northwest High School-3 year starter at scUM) and Ken Griffey Junior (Cincinnati Moeller) grace the area's athletic fields.
I think I made the comment that Tyler Moeller didn't have the hips to play safety, but Eugene could come in and play whatever position the coaches ask him to and the only prep time he would need is the time it takes to roll out of bed and get dressed.

Congrats to Gene! The Colerain community is proud of you and I can't wait for Buckeye fans to see you in person.
