That IS a very strong statement. Doss was a 3-time All-American and arguably the 2nd best safety ever at OSU (behind J.Tatum). Whitner was the consensus national #1 CB coming out of Glenville HS and was a top 10 pick in the most recent NFL draft.

The statement's pretty open ended, but if he ends up on the defensive side of the ball, I'd LOVE to see him be a better player than either Doss or Whitner!

I thought I remember him saying he wasn't going to visit Michigan and he already knew enough about them to not warrant another visit.

I hope the inside guys are right on Clifford going to OSU. I EZbox a respected guy on GBW (if there is such a thing) and some UM insiders are very happy with Eugene's recruitment so far. I believe this will be a great class but Clifford, O'Dowd and Martin are the three "swing" guys that could make it Tressel's best yet.

Is this goiong to be like how Hoaden was definitely going to visit Ohio State... or Luther Davis as well? From what has been said about his recruitment,
I would be surprised if Clifford schedules Ohio State as his first visit and then proceeds to the others for officials.

I'm not worried about Eugene, either. He had a great time at OSU this past week with his Colerain teammates. If Gene does not become a Buckeye, you could say I'd be the most surprised person on the planet...And I'll give you one big reason why NOT Tsun....Mister Simpson. Mister HATES it up there...hates the staff, the school, the air...everything. Cliff likes Florida...but he hasn't met 'Boot Camp' Urban, yet...


I am confident he will be a Buckeye...If he's not, I'll have to go into the witness protection program...:(

Colerain safety Eugene Clifford has pared his college list to Ohio State, Michigan, Florida State and Miami (Fla.), he told me today at practice. Clifford also will once again play wide receiver this year for the Cardinals.
