DB Christian Bryant (Official Thread)

He's definitely a gamer. I'm not down on him overall for the missed tackle. He was trying to be aggressive and make a play.
True, he has done more in the little time he played last year and this year than Johnson has his whole career IMO. At least we know we have something back there

Christian makes plays. He doesn't make plays. That's natural progression. He's young, but he's going to be a great player when it's all said and done.

What I don't appreciate about his play is that I always see him having to be pulled away from the pile after the whistle blows. There is absolutely no need to for him to constantly run his mouth. He makes a great play like blowing up Martinez, but talks junk. Then he completely whiffs on a TD and is left chewing on fake grass and rubber.

I'm sick of the "swag." It's not swag. It's trash talking and it's stupid. Play to the whistle and then walk back to the huddle. If you dominate your opponent, wait for a few pats on the hat knowing you just humiliated him, and do it again. No need to puff your chest out.

I hated it when the team was wrecking everybody in its path and I sure as you know what hate it when sitting at 3-3. Just play football young man. Talk with your pads.

Didn't this topic come up a few years back? Something like "our defense has no spark, no one seems to be fired up. We don't have a guy to get in the opponents face." There were people asking if Tressel was recruiting guys that were "too nice."

If that's what gives the defense fire, then so be it. Trash talk never hurt.

Yup- he went for the kill shot instead of the tackle.

Of course, he did that earlier too and it worked pretty well. Time and place, I guess.

I could watch that all day. Yes he did make a few mistakes, but the kid is a youngster. Hes going to be very good..

Malcolm Jenkins got in everyone's face every Saturday. That dude ran his mouth and got into scuffles more than any other Buckeye I can recall in recent years. Difference however is that Malcolm backed it up with his play for 4 quarters every Saturday - something I think Christian will do when it's all said and done.

I wish Christian would focus on making the plays, rather than getting a home run. The home runs will come. You can tell the tools are there, he just has some maturing to do. Another rough game. I think the growing pains will be worth it.

The fire in his belly is what gets this kid on the field. I think the coaches might be sacrificing the occasional missed play by him in order to get his playmaking aggressiveness on the field. Hopefully the more games he plays, the more sound he'll become. But I think his personality out there helps this team.

Totally agree. The play in the 1st where he went for the pick cost us 4 points.

I thought he played VERY well in the run game. I won't fault him too much for going for that interception. Could have gone either way really. He missed one tackle? Barnett missed one just like it.

He made a huge hit late in the 4th on 3rd down that was a real pad popper. Can't wait to the see the future of that secondary. STARS everywhere.
