Man Accused Of Killing Teen Who Was Already On Stretcher

DETROIT -- A 21-year-old Detroit man is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 17-year-old who had already been shot and was lying on a stretcher.
Dennis Atkins is also charged with assault for ordering two paramedics to stand aside while, police said , he fired two shotgun blasts that killed the teen.
Authorities said Atkins had shot Billie Rutledge with a handgun, then after paramedics arrived, popped out of hiding with the shotgun and wearing a mask.
Detroit police aren't commenting on a motive.
My question: If he wanted him dead so badly, why didn't he use the shotgun the first time around? Why wait until the paramedics are there?
