Curt Schilling Bloody Sock - A Hoax??

The sock in the Hall of Fame is from Game 2 of the World Series, not game six of AL Championship Series. Supposedly, Curt said he threw this one away at the stadium.

I thought they said on mike and mike that someone pulled his sock out of the trash from game 6 and that was the one in the hall?

or did i hear wrong?

The HoF and Schilling both say that his Game 6 ALCS sock is the one in Cooperstown.

During all this, one of the stitches busted, and the blood started really coming through my sock. I knew the tendon was still OK, and that's all I cared about. I just prayed that it would hold out for a while. After the game people were speculating that the sock thing was staged. People still wonder about it. Well, the sock's in the Hall of Fame -- so go test the DNA if you want.

I believe that the world series sock is in the HoF, and have heard that Schilling didn't think to save the ALCS sock.

If you look at pictures of the HoF sock and pictures of the bloody socks from the ALCS and WS games, you can see that the blood (or paint! :P) pattern in the HoF sock lines up with the pattern on the WS sock.

The wonderful aspect to this non-story was that it provoked more discussion about the Red Sox magical run in 2004. We get to reminisce about the greatest comeback and the biggest choke in MLB postseason history.

Schill's bloody sock has nothing to do with what transpired in the postseason. It's a fetish object for morons, like the whole concept of the Billy Goat Curse or the Curse of the Bambino.

It'a just a way for the haters to try and diminsh Schilling's greatness in the postseason.
