Good analogy, they just need to keep moving northward to Lane with the re-development.

And then out to Indianola or so. Who cares how nice High Street is when you can walk 100 feet east and end up in the ghetto again? It's like putting new siding on a shitty house. The house is still shitty, you just can't tell it until you're inside.

Here is what I find funny about the whole crime on campus.

When Holbrook decided that she didn't like the culture around what happened on football saturdays she started showing up everywhere talking about how it was out of control, and group was formed on how to stop this from happening etc.

But hundreds of apts get broken into over Christmas break, and not a word from her. Not out there saying we are going to stop this, not helping to set up neighborhood watches etc. Nothing....to me that speaks volumes about what she thinks of the general student body.

Nowadays, most cell phones have GPS in case you dial 911 and aren't able to speak.

This didn't hit me until now. Thump makes a good point.

Although phones don't have any positioning software or hardware, digital cellular phones are simulataneously within range of multiple cellular base stations. So, when you are moving, you are constantly picked up by the next base station in your path and dropped by the current base station.

This allows cellular networks to triangulate your position by the strength of your signal, usually to within about 5 meters of where you are physically located.

Why every college girl doesn't carry around pepper spray with them on their keychain is beyond me.

I can think of only one good reason: b/c she's packing a 45.
