crime is rather surprising. the girls are the biggest fucktards though. i wont lie i walk/run around campus all the time on any given day in the early AM hours but at least i am observant of what is going on and who might be suspect. the girls are being threatened RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the gateway and then go along with it into cars and end up getting raped....genius. there are quite a few crimes in the the 12th to 10th area surprisingly as busy as they are. some of the more humorous ones are the ones that are stalkers of girls running on the bike path and the continually pass the girls then stop then pass them again and masturbate to them.

By Bruce Cadwallader

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Adam Saleh calmly faced the jury today and told them he did not kill Reynoldsburg model Julie Popovich in 2005. The 20-year-old auto mechanic and weekend race enthusiast took the stand in his own trial Friday to tell jurors he met Popovich for the first time on Aug. 11, 2005, but he was partying with other friends that night and did not socialize with her group of young women.
“I wasn't really paying attention to that group of people,” Saleh said in Franklin County Common Pleas Court. He said he left Ledo's Lounge in the University District about 1:30 a.m. and went to his mother's carryout on N. High Street.

Two of the fifteen worst college crime areas in the nation are at Ohio State, according to this report (link).

12th and Summit area (High St to the Fairgrounds and Chittenden to 17th) and Lane and Neil (High St to Olentangy River, Lane to Thompkins) give you a 50% chance of being a victim of property crime? Wow.

I lived on 8th and Neal about 20 years ago and I do recall a few anxious walks back home late at night where it was obvious I was being watched/followed, but never assaulted or robbed (or worse).

I'm not the biggest guy in the world but I'm not the smallest, either, so maybe that was part of it. That, and it was obvious I didn't have any money. :wink2:

I feel lucky to have gone without any incidents. And I've done a lot of walking in areas that I probably shouldn't. I've slept in my car multiple times in back alleys. I know plenty of people who have had issues though. One girl I know got her house broken into and her car broken into in the same week.

Not a week goes by that my car doesn't get a new ding. Pisses me off. I love my car. :mad1:

My neighborhood was BAD! I was ONLY broken into once, and lost nothing due to my love of giant breed dogs. My neighbors however were not so lucky, one of whom was broken into 6 times in the two years i lived there. I became so fed up with all of the crime and attempt at stealing my bike and kicking in my door once that I personally started a block watch before I left and began carrying a 38 special with me when walking my dogs late at night.

I lived at 61 E 12th for a year. I had one the bedroom which has a window facing 12th. One night during the spring I left my window open, but I slept at my gf's place. When I came back the next morning the screen was cut and my Playstation, games, watch and money were all gone. That sucked.
