Is Paypal a good way to go about paying for it?

If the guy never sends it, do I have grounds to refund my payment?

Paypal does have dispute resolution. I'm not sure if it's legally binding.

It might help to set up an e-bay buy it now auction for the item.

I like your initiative, but I'd likely go broke getting all the way to San Diego, I'd have to find local work, and never leave the beautiful surroundings.

Yeah, San Diego, you'd have to go through my area and I might beat you with a bat or I could let you crash here and maybe let your stinky ass take a shower, but odds are I would beat you with a bat, it's nothing personal, I just really like beating people with a bat.
