Flam, was fun to watch! He was sooo skinny. I kept waiting for some big bruiser to cut him in half! But, he was remarkably durable.
Losing that Rose Bowl to a UCLA team we beat badly during the season , was disappointing. :(

By the way, Cornelius Greene had a 2000 rushing yard career at Ohio State AND at the time he left he was the career passing leader. Of course, now he's not even in the top 10, but at the time, the guy put up HUGE numbers.

Lots of guys from 68-75 that people would do well to look up and consider when they start talking about GOAT at OSU. Keep in mind the dominance of the run at that time in CFB and some of its shocking.

Aside from 1 year that near decade of 68-75 was one of, if not the, best in OSU football history.

Yes! Those were great years!
And tv coverage was improving by leaps and bounds.

Hopefully in a couple of years we can add a new decade into contention.

Tressel's current win % is about what it would take. Need a couple of NC's to top that era. The bad part is when you see how many we could have had during that run.

What a shame that most of the 68 season National Championship team was not on tv at the time! I remember only seeing Purdue and Michigan, maybe Michigan State, also?

Purdue and tsun(obviously the RB as well) are the only ones I recall seeing color footage of so I assume that means they were the only ones broadcast? Everything else seems like B&W coaching film spliced together to make highlights.

Unfortunately, no first hand knowledge, it was before my time.

HEY! It looks like I was the inspiration behind your kick ass thread that compares that era to our current era!!!

Okay, hold on a minute, let me stretch my arm out... don't want to hurt it while I pat myself on the back...

I'm so pumped! I'm going to opening day, it's Y'town State but it's still kind of cool seeing as it's Tressel's old ball club! CAN'T WAIT!! BTW is there a Thursday game this week like they've done in years past? I sure hope so! LOL

Another BTW: Like the new sig? Threw it together in about 10 minutes, but I wanted a sweet looking Ohio State sig.

I realize its distracting being game week and all but someone better have a pic of #6 Cie Grant slinging that pencil neck geek Dorsey to the turf up soon. We're not posting up to OSU standards folks :wink2:
