Coronavirus (COVID-19) is too exciting for adults to discuss (CLOSED)

I definitely understand this line of thinking… My own thoughts are it will being a yearly thing, like a flu shot. However I spoke to my doctor about it recently and he made an interesting remark. I’m paraphrasing but it goes something like this ….

We dont know yet if you have 100 antibodies in a test if its good enough to protect against covid or what the minimum level needed is to be considered “protected”, and how long that protection will last. He likened it to the HEP B vaccine (i think it was this HEP). In the medical field they have their antibodies levels checked and they know ‘If i’m at X i’m good for 5 years, Y is good for 2 years, and Z well shit that kinda low get a booster’.

In his opinion this is where it was going but there wasn’t enough data points, vaccine or virus related, to be able to get to that point but studies are underway.
I don't care really what all the "medical folks" say anymore, because nobody knows squat yet...you have "professionals" firmly on both sides of the argument, and this virus is been out for almost two fucking years. There are variants and will continue to be variants. There are quite a few folks that have gotten their shots and still got COVID. All I know is I got my two shots...if it ain't enough, well then fuck it, I guess I'll just die.

Fair enough … just genuinely curious your thoughts on the yearly Flu vaccine?

I haven't had a flu vaccine since 2000 (my last full year of USAF active duty), and I haven't had the flu single time in over 20 years...
I left the Air Force in 1993, hadn't been vaccinated until this last year, out of respect for the one with whom I live. The last time I had the flu was 1998 or 1999. We'll see where all this goes. I personally think this is being overblown.

Realize I'm jumping in...
I just wish that it became more of a consensus in no longer discussing this situation as a pandemic with a possible end. It's an endemic, just like the flu.
With regards to the flu vaccine, I no longer get it (> 15 years ago). Don't know what I'll do if they offer a Covid in the same manner.

Not Covid but it seems every person I know over the last couple weeks has come down with pretty gnarly colds.

I never get sick and it looks like something finally caught me- runny nose and sneezing all day. Everything else is good but annoying as hell. Change in weather kicking ass right now.

Same. Seems like everyone I know is sick.

I’m not (yet).

Just stopped by to report results of a recent family study on COVID.

My wife is one of 7 girls - all married. That makes me one of 7 brothers in law. Five vaccinated - two anti-vaxxers. All of us range from early 60s to early 70s.

The first anti-vaxxer died this spring - of COVID.

The second anti-vaxxer died yesterday - of COVID.

The rest of us are fine - thanks for asking.
