I always thought diabetes and heart failure went hand in hand. He probably did have type 2 diabetes, we weren't real close and I saw him maybe twice after I turned ten. He did have to have his teeth pulled as they rotted out from all the sugar he consumed. The thing is he was an active guy, he was a contractor, worked hard, was a big sports fisherman, used to reel in those blue marlins down in Cabo San Lucas. You seem to be 1000-10,000 times more knowledgeable on the subject though so I shall concede that I'm talking out my ass.
I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. :biggrin2:

Pfizer
- 1st, no impact other than mild soreness
- 2nd, fine for 12 hours. Fever dreams overnight. Mild fever, brain fog, overall ugly feeling for next 12 hours. At 24 hour mark, mostly fine (like the feeling the afternoon you decide to go back to work after the flu).

What was weird about dose 2, is that if I really thought about it, it was like my body was fighting a war only on the top inch of my skin. Deep down I was actually fine. It was a weird mix between that feeling a day after working out and the flu. Not a good time to be making important legal decisions, but pretty mild.

Haven't seen this thread for quite a while so that why I'm replying over 3 weeks after your post. I got my first shot on Apr 27th and my second on May 18th. The first shot was an absolute nothing...no pain during the shot or anytime after it. I also had absolute zero effects from it. The second shot was different...not way different, not noticeably different. It hurt when the shot was given, and the shot site was slightly painful for about 24 hours. I also had a slight fever for a day or so. So, I'd guess that the second shot was more potent than the first...it had to be, like the first was a "prep" shot for the second. Still, absolutely zero side effects from either shot.
Ditto

print from whom?

Got our 3rd. Doing fine. A little mentally tongue tied and sore but mostly fine.

Wife was a little more fevery and achy but just like last time lifted mostly after 24 hours. Still lingering a touch at hour 30 for her.

Got two doses. That's enough, period. Not getting a third (or fourth, or fifth). And for some reason I should actually get COVID, I'll get over it.

1st dose was sore but nothing else after that.

2nd dose I ended up sleeping for most of the next two days, no appetite, weird dreams, mild fever and body aches.

Not getting a 3rd shot.

IF Moderna is performing better with the Delta variant... wonder if it makes more sense to wait for Moderna booster vs Pfizer booster
If this turns out to be .. 'you need a booster every 6 mths' I'm pissed
I would expect they combine the annual flu shot with the boosters

I led a multi year HUGE project for a very major pharma years back. Had access to a lot of industry activity... sat in many presentations... so I am leery of the power of pharmas to influence political actions
it is not inconceivable that pharma is behind this

I definitely understand this line of thinking… My own thoughts are it will being a yearly thing, like a flu shot. However I spoke to my doctor about it recently and he made an interesting remark. I’m paraphrasing but it goes something like this ….

We dont know yet if you have 100 antibodies in a test if its good enough to protect against covid or what the minimum level needed is to be considered “protected”, and how long that protection will last. He likened it to the HEP B vaccine (i think it was this HEP). In the medical field they have their antibodies levels checked and they know ‘If i’m at X i’m good for 5 years, Y is good for 2 years, and Z well shit that kinda low get a booster’.

In his opinion this is where it was going but there wasn’t enough data points, vaccine or virus related, to be able to get to that point but studies are underway.
