As far as risk, this shit would be a lot easier if everyone's risk was the same and if we could get some decent goddamn information from anyone on the real risks.

But everyone has different levels of risk and those levels are constantly changing -- a month ago, I was far more risk averse as my mom was at high risk and my dad was being a pain in the ass about getting vaccinated. Now my mom is dead and my sister used that to guilt-trip my dad into getting the shot. Suddenly I'm not nearly so worried about whether or not I get this stupid fucking virus. However, I still recognize that other people may still have more at stake than I do now, so I'm going to do my best to be accommodating of those concerns. If that means wearing a mask in the grocery store again, so be it. It just isn't that big of a deal. Zero risk for me to do it vs minimal reward that it might maybe possibly protect me or somebody else.

As far as getting decent information, it's all such a shitshow that I don't know how anyone is supposed to be able to properly assess risk here. The fucking CDC can't stop tripping over their own fucking shoelaces long enough to give anyone really good direction. NewsSourceA says we're all going to fucking die. NewsSourceB says it's all a fucking hoax. The stupid virus won't stop mutating. How the fuck can we know how at risk we really are?

It’s exhibit A of the fact that when a thing becomes politicized, it’s fucked, and there’s no going back.

and example 4 trillion of why no one trusts News source A, B or the goddamn government anymore. I mean at all. The right wing nut job network or the left wing nut job network says the sky is blue and I'm rolling my eyes and checking for myself.

The misinformation and propaganda fly from the two sides, who feel it's more important to be "right" and pander to their core than just present actual facts and let people make their own decisions, to the point they have no credibility. None.

When so many are still getting sick and dying there is a need for non-political information for most Americans to be safe. Lives are at high risk. The economy and peoples families are at risk. Everyone has "covid fatigue" at this point but we have to learn how to live through this for now.
It's just common sense. Doing the things that keep us healthy are how we help our familiea. Our loved ones. It helps feed and house our families. All who we care about.
It's interesting to me that you mention "non-political", since every article that you post is all doom and gloom. You obviously have a reason for being so passionate about the issue, which I admire, but let's be honest with ourselves. This is nothing like pandemics of the past. It isn't something to be fearful of (in my opinion). We haven't heard of flu deaths in quite a while. Is that a coincidence, or is everything COVID? How is it that fully vaccinated individuals account for 25% of the newly infected in a certain California county?

Here's something that I doubt you would post to this thread, because it doesn't fit your narrative...

Seems to me the vaccine data in that article seem to fit just fine with Taos’s narrative.

Crucial to Britain's apparent success are vaccines. The U.K. boasts one of the world's most successful campaigns, with more than 88 percent of adults receiving one dose, and 73 percent a second, according to government data as of Wednesday.

For the U.S., that drops to 70 percent for one dose and 60 percent for two — and rates are far lower in Southern states such as Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. Officials there are now in the same race of vaccine-versus-variant that Britain has been battling this summer.

I agree that it is nowhere near some of the really nasty pandemics of the past. And thank god for that given some people's reactions. (Definitely not directed at you here)

Maybe flu deaths are down because people were masking up and socially distancing all through flu season last fall/winter? As result, people simply were not getting the flu last year because of all of the covid precautions. I know I went 18 months without getting a cold and it's only in the last 6 weeks that I've had one. It will be interesting to see if the flu numbers bounce back up this coming winter.

So, I never get sick. EVER! I never see the doctor, never take medicine, always allow "germs" in my body. I always just thought that I had a healthy immune system. Against my better judgement, I decided to go get the vaccine two weeks ago. I have never been so sick in my life since. It makes me wonder. How does the medical/pharma field make money? Off of sick people. If people aren't sick, there's no money to be made.

Big pharma is certainly in it to make money. As for your conspiracy:

- If getting people sick with the vaccine (and thus ensuring ongoing bills) was the plan, they forgot their plan

- That's if that plan is even viable, which I seriously doubt given the polarization of the topic.
