Coronavirus (COVID-19) is too exciting for adults to discuss (CLOSED)

Don't know where else to put this... but my favorite restaurant/beer place in my neighborhood just closed permanently. It was a staple for over 20 years. Closed because of covid restrictions, couldn't get enough patrons in with the distancing. Pretty damn sad, I felt like Norm walking out of the last scene of cheers. But really worried we're about to see that left and right the next year even more than we've seen.
If it's a good location, there's probably a good chance another restaurant may go there. My favorite restaurant has gone temporally back to it's origins as a roach coach/food truck and when things get better will reopen. It's one of the best restaurants in Santa Fe. Jambo Cafe.

After my best friend died, and a few others suffered horribly from it, when the opportunity to get vaccinated presented itself through my employer I had to consider it.

While I definitely didn't want to be first in line in December, I also knew if I passed on it now and got Covid next month I'd kick my own ass.

Got the first dose yesterday. No big deal. A little soreness at the injection spot, like any flu vaccine, but nothing else. Next dose in 28 days.

Dr Fauci says the Astra Zeneca and Johnson&Johnson vaccines will seek FDA approval in the coming couple of weeks....not months!
Locally, I am hopeful of getting a vaccine early February.

Nothing I have seen suggests that the J&J vaccine is anywhere near as good, so if I had a choice I would take something else.

On a better note, things are starting to move in Ohio.

Two of my neighbors got their first shot (Pfizer) yesterday! They are both in their 70's. The local hospital and local schools have all gotten a vaccine. I'm waiting on word if New Mexico changes it's 1b age limit(70+) to get a jab! Or I'll have to wait till spring.

Therapies have now been developed that use the lab-made antibodies to treat people who have tested positive for COVID-19 and have mild to moderate symptoms.

To date, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized two such treatments for emergency use: casirivimab and imdevimab given together, and bamlanivimab administered on its own.

This couple passed at Riverside Methodist in a dignified way that few people get to do. Buckeye fans married 70 years.
