Eh....not really my intent. I don't consider going to the movies or a baseball game as "assembling" in the same way. I get your point....but I doubt that's how WHO or NPR or whoever is looking at a Trump rally.

If somebody wants to actually prevent a rally from happening, and they want to protest that.....by all means. But the rally itself vs "hey, treat black people better"....not a worthy comparison.

You're making yourself the arbiter of worthiness... And thats ok... But the constitution sees it the same. That's all

And yeah, NPR is ignorant of that in this case, at least.to the point they deserve to be called out

It's not ignorance...it's their opinion. And their opinion isn't one thing is allowed and one isn't. It's that one is an actual assembly to better lives, and one is a circus. Go ahead and do both...but let's not pretend a candidate rally at this stage is a comparison to what these protests stand for....which is all that is being said.

Do you agree that there are things that hold different levels of significance, and that there exists at least one thing in this world that you would do despite the risk of spreading this common cold? Is there at least one thing that you don't care enough about...you'd stay indoors for 3 hours?

Indiana has been “open” in some form for about 3 weeks now. Our numbers are good and going down, even enough to bump up our next “phase” 2 days early. Also sounds like there are lower tests, but I take that as a sign people aren’t feeling sick/symptons and don’t need tested.

Anecdotally, a local country singer/friend (late 30’s) got diagnosed about 3 weeks ago. Quarantined, was feeling rough, had days that were bad but recovered. His father got it too about a week ago, eventually was hospitalized but now released in like 3 days. I would have assumed that was a death sentence for someone his age 2 months ago. Especially after another friend lost their healthy dad.

Either treatment is improving (avoid immediately placing on a ventillator?) or the virus is weakening. Won’t claim to be an expert on either, but things feel like they are better, to me at least.

And in deference to NPR, it’s those who choose to attend the orange tikis rally’s opinion that this is of value to them. Agree or disagree it is their right to believe strongly in that and assemble.

You can’t fix stupid...oh wait maybe you can.

I agree that I can decide what's more or less significant to me, and you can do the same for yourself. The Trump rally goers can too, and so can people protesting police violence.

You're the one who implied that one is constitutionally protected and the other isn't. Its not protest violence or go to the beach.

Hey, maybe no one will show up and we will have our answer as to significance and.point and laugh... But as to free speech for me and not for thee... I'm not into that, no.

I shouldn't have brought up the constitution....but I would like to reiterate my intent when I said that was to show that one was so important that it was even granted as a right. I wasn't looking at a Trump rally (or a Biden rally) in the same context as a protest. Obviously I've never been to a Trump rally, so I'm just guessing at what goes on there. But my guess is it's just a performance. It's as much of a peaceful assemblage of people as going to a NASCAR race. I get it....but, cmon.

I feel like there's a lot more beer and weed at NASCAR races. I've never been to one but I have done a beer bong that started at the top of a camper at Mid-Ohio once. Which is to say, be careful out there kids. Beer bongs are probably disease vectors extraordinaire. I would consider 151 bongs only in this time of danger.
