Speaking as a mod:

Naw, we decided a while back that we would allow some political aspects to be included with this thread. I don't think we want to try to split off parts of the discussion at this point. And the origin of the virus is a basic aspect of the overall pandemic.

As an FYI, the 'Minneapolis cop'/George Floyd thread was recently moved to the Political forum. Not by me, but I agree with that move.

You fucking fascists!!

Oh wait, sorry. Disregard. Wrong forum.

How do you even begin to measure "lives ruined"?
.

Increases in suicides, business closures, mortgage forfeitures, worst-ever unemployment stats, etc.
Well, you're doing the same when you claim that "this many more people will die if we lift restrictions".

Just sayin': Franklin County (Ohio) has taken a hit on opioid overdoses:

Franklin County Coroner reports 7 overdoses in less than 24 hours

On Saturday, Franklin County Coroner Dr. Anahi Ortiz reported a surge in overdose deaths.

Dr. Ortiz said seven peopled have died of overdoses in the past 24 hours.

"Amidst the turmoil today, seven people lost their lives to overdoses in Franklin County. Please carry naloxone, those who use should never use alone and should test with fentanyl test strips," Dr. Ortiz wrote on her official Twitter account.

I'm curious to see what happens, if anything, in the cities where there are protests and/or riots. I don't see social distancing being a consideration.

Will we see a spike in virus cases?

Makes sense. A lot of cops carry naloxone and save overdosed street people with it regularly. If the cops are all busy dealing with protests/riots, they're not doing that.

The elitist prick BP deep state mods hide it (I think there's some approval process). I get to it through this: https://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/forums/political-conversation-and-debate.32/
I had to create a separate bookmark for it. If I remember correctly, the elitist pri....I mean our fine moderation staff locked it down for a bit after the the 2016 election because hard feelings were spilling over to the main forums and removed the link from the main board. I've had access to the poli board for years, but it took me a bit of searching to find it after they opened it back up.
