Stores had to pull their supply because the media LIES, AND LIES, AND LIES AGAIN. No one ever said to drink or inject bleach or lysol, BUT THE FAKE ASS MEDIA REPORTED THAT TRUMP SAID TO DRINK OR INJECT BLEACH OR LYSOL.
He said to consider injecting disinfectant, without any scientific logic for that.

Much like when he asked Dr Birx to speak about the credibility of shooting uv light at the virus/body, and she gently sidestepped the stupidity and said she wasn't aware of that working, but that fevers do help.

And now that he's embarrassed by both (as both are highly destructive), he's claiming it was sarcasm and that he never asked Birx about it.

You need to tone it down, lv, or take posts like this to the poli forum.

imagine hearing the president specifically talking about injecting disinfectant. now imagine that the problem you have is not with the president talking about injecting disinfectants but instead with the media for mentioning specific types of disinfectants.

by the way, @lvbuckeye , if the media is claiming trump said to drink disinfectants, then understand that they're actually doing him a favor by presenting a less dangerous method of consumption. if you're confused about what i mean, then perhaps you could run a little experiment. first, drink a little disinfectant. record the effects. now inject a little disinfectant. note the difference.

yeah, trump totally wasn't referring to bleach and other over-the-counter disinfectants. i mean, it's not as though the dhs acting under-secretary talked about bleach and over-the-counter disinfectants literally seconds before trump.

ACTING UNDER SECRETARY BRYAN:

...

We’re also testing disinfectants readily available. We’ve tested bleach, we’ve tested isopropyl alcohol on the virus, specifically in saliva or in respiratory fluids. And I can tell you that bleach will kill the virus in five minutes; isopropyl alcohol will kill the virus in 30 seconds, and that’s with no manipulation, no rubbing — just spraying it on and letting it go. You rub it and it goes away even faster. We’re also looking at other disinfectants, specifically looking at the COVID-19 virus in saliva.

This is not the end of our work as we continue to characterize this virus and integrate our findings into practical applications to mitigate exposure and transmission. I would like to thank the President and thank the Vice President for their ongoing support and leadership to the department and for their work in addressing this pandemic. I would also like to thank the scientists, not only in S&T and the NBACC, but to the larger scientific and R&D community.

Thank you very much.

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you, Bill.

Q Mr. Bryan —

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much. So I asked Bill a question that probably some of you are thinking of, if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous — whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light — and I think you said that that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way, and I think you said you’re going to test that too. It sounds interesting.

ACTING UNDER SECRETARY BRYAN: We’ll get to the right folks who could.

THE PRESIDENT: Right. And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that. So, that, you’re going to have to use medical doctors with. But it sounds — it sounds interesting to me.

trump: "soap outside body good, so soap inside body also good."

yep, trump was definitely not referring to injecting bleach, lysol, or other commonly available disinfectants in order to kill the virus. i mean, it's not as though he got such an idea only moments before.

@lvbuckeye - to hammer home that, yes, trump was actually referring to injecting over-the-counter disinfectants like bleach...

dhs acting under-secretary bryan: "We’ve tested bleach, we’ve tested isopropyl alcohol on the virus, specifically in saliva or in respiratory fluids. And I can tell you that bleach will kill the virus in five minutes; isopropyl alcohol will kill the virus in 30 seconds..."

moments later

trump: "And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?"

We are in the middle of a real shit show folks! And we have to all step up and do what we can. Social Distance and wash your hands. Do a good deed for someone safely. Remember if you get sick you can't help your family or loved ones. Stay safe. Flatten the curve.
