And what percentage of total tests administered in New Mexico were for Native Americans? These “news” articles report about half the facts needed to actually draw any valid conclusions. But they make spicy headlines to draw clicks.

The "percentage of total tests" is a worthless partial stat. You know there is not nearly enough testing available. The Navajo themselves can't give accurate data. It's this way for the whole country. Not enough testing for valid data.

New Mexico Demographics
According to the most recent ACS, the racial composition of New Mexico was:

White: 74.50%
Native American: 9.55%
Other race: 9.09%
Two or more races: 3.23%
Black or African American: 2.06%
Asian: 1.51%
Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander: 0.07%

Following further investigation and verification, the HCOC reports they will report on confirmed cases of COVID-19 of Navajo Nation residents only. Previously, the Navajo Epidemiology Center and HCOC data also i

Well, if you're old and live in Commifornia you had better not get sick...

California Announces If Crisis Hits, They Have A Point System To Decide Who Survives

It’s easy and fun to piss on Cali for being nuts, but is this anything more than a microcosm of the decision being made on a local/state/federal level? Just on a more personal and individual level.

Hard decisions have to be made knowing that some group (or individual in this case) is going to suffer as a result? We know that opening things back up will result in more cases and almost certainly more deaths, but that is a decision that has to be made at some point due to the suffering/death caused by the lockdown. It’s the same principle.....people are going to suffer and die as a result of either a decision to stay closed or a decision to open up, so there is no “good” choice. You have to weigh the costs and benefits of each choice and if you are in the “cost” side, you are going to suffer while someone on the “benefit” side comes out ahead.

This is the first I've seen of it.

Precisely why triage shouldn't be decided by some arbitrary numerical metric.

“It’s not a shortage, it’s just that it needs to get from the supplier throughout the supply chain to the stores,” said Diane Brisebois, president and chief executive officer of the Retail Council of Canada. “There’s been an unexpected increase in demand for those products, and if those demands continue, it might take a bit longer to get them to the shelves.”

One obvious problem with having Vegas as an early area to open up is that people travel to and from there from all over the country, so it's not just Vegas that's susceptible to a bounce in cases. Vegas and Disney World are about the last places that should open.

I didn't listen to the above interview yet.

Many residents think it went through there in January.

Oh, there’s no question that Vegas is bad news bears here. Recall that CES was in January and half of China was in town (with me) for a week of very little social distancing.

Then why is my wife taking tetracycline for my bladder infection?

Funny story that...

I gave a presentation in Vegas almost 20 years ago. Was out there for a week for a conference and the presentation. It was shortly before Thanksgiving... like a week before.

Over Thanksgiving weekend every time I pissed I thought that I was pissing needles. I sat my wife down, and mother in law because she’s a nurse, and said, “I recognize that what I’m about to tell you in conjunction with the fact that I was in Vegas alone for a week sounds suspicious... but I swear I didn’t do anything... but... when I piss it feels like I’m pissing shards of glass...”

Turns out I was passing a small kidney stone. But you can imagine the look I got from both of them. In a way I was glad that it was a kidney stone. LOL.
