But people sit on situations when they're inconvenienced (see the sudden need for medium care around the holidays), let alone when they're scared to get care. Hopefully I'm reading too much into this.

And the below medium cases that get postponed for [TBD] months lead to more serious issues, and require the patient to let the doctor know if it gets worse. But docs are saying folks are oddly quieter on usual fronts, like the ones you mentioned that aren't really a choice (heart attacks, pneumonia, etc).

They better cancel the first day of deer gun season in Kalamazoo.

And yeah, you're right, postponed is bad, so I think they probably need to start some easing on those in whatever priority they see fit...

That should happen soon. The one upside is that folks likely continue to avoid the hospital, while those electives scale back in.

Here's what I think is the latest on medications..
Plaquenil/hydroxychloroquine does wonderfully in addressing symptoms and especially inflammation (which is a major issue in the lungs) but they're not sure what it does to the virus, per se which is why they include zpac and zinc. Ironically, this is very similar to its use for Lupus. It 'works' but they don't know why it works.
Some thinking is.. plaquenil fends off enuf issues until the body can fix itself.

Remdesivir is the new leader in the clubhouse and may actually attack the virus itself. Watch Chicago

Obviously nothing is going to be better than the plasma from recovered Covids

The best vaccine to date is still duct tape... over your hands, your face and your ass to the chair

Rutgers' spit-in-the-tube is gaining major ground as immunity test. 23andMe all over again.

Also hearing that when we get thru this.. there is heavy rumors the number of medical professionals especially nurses that are anywhere close to retirement are gone
If they are working ICU right now... all of them at all ages want to leave the industry...
the stress is immense... these folks are scared... serious bravery

can't wait to see if the rumor that a Harvard University doc is part of this Wuhan facility and in particular, a key lead in this coronavirus research...

Charles Lieber, the chair of Harvard University's Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, has been arrested and criminally charged with making "false, fictitious and fraudulent statements" to the U.S. Defense Department about his ties to a Chinese government program to recruit foreign scientists and researchers.

The Justice Department says Lieber, 60, lied about his contact with the Chinese program known as the Thousand Talents Plan, which the U.S. has previously flagged as a serious intelligence concern. He also is accused of lying about about a lucrative contract he signed with China's Wuhan University of Technology.

In an affidavit unsealed Tuesday, FBI Special Agent Robert Plumb said Lieber, who led a Harvard research group focusing on nanoscience, had established a research lab at the Wuhan university — apparently unbeknownst to Harvard.

Really shocked to read she is on Biden’s VP shortlist. Has yet to do anything of substance other than ratchet up the usual rhetoric.

People on the West side of the State have been doing a solid job of shelter in place from what I’ve seen. Not much at all in Lansing. It was interesting to see that some of the cases are starting to spread down the I-94 corridor.

The flu, AIDS, and malaria are contagious and have accounted for around a million deaths this year to date. Shoot for that one next time Doc. I’m sure someone on twitter will spin that one as well. Hahaha!!

Cuban has the best take on this. It’s the asymptomatic spreaders that cause the fear/concern. A bit irrational, a bit legit.
