So I may end up being the beneficiary of some pretty blatant lobbying, and right now I'll take whatever I can get. There are rumblings that Disney is working directly with the state government to have Cast Members automatically enrolled in the unemployment system. I mean, on the back end, it makes sense. They have access to every piece of information needed for unemployment, and automatically transferring that info is far less likely to result in mistakes holding up my application than me trying to type in all the info and praying to god I have all my financial ducks in a row that they want. But it does feel a little scummy that I might get to skip the hassle and virtual holdup thanks to a large donation to DeSantis' campaign. It's like if you have a decent enough employee record keeping system you should be able to provide that to the state for enrollment in the event of large scale unemployment situations to begin with. Maybe this will serve as a catalyst for that kind of change...hey, a man can dream, right?

Either way, fuck that dumbass, and fuck this damn virus.

Well, i hope the process is easy for you, but Desantis isnt nearly the most problematic Disney association in this mess.

My daughter got her check today and it was for $994.51. She’s under the $75k threshold so WTF is that...

That would be my guess. If so, that's a lot of BS as I thought this was being treated as an advance on a federal tax credit for next (this) year, and shouldn't technically be income. The other thing is maybe the income formula is different and not being calculated on AGI and instead just pure gross income?

its interesting cause I got the full amount I thought I might get... not a penny under.. so i’m pretty sure they use AGI....

A greater price than death?
Absolutely. Choose one....death or living with many advanced illnesses. Living with mental illness can be a far worse punishment than death, for example. Need proof? There are three times the amount of suicides than deaths from Covid this year already. That number will continue to grow. That should tell you that death was the easier and better choice than living for many people. Death is never worse than living through hell.

And the living are all paying that price?
