93-year-old woman who asked for 'more beer' during coronavirus lockdown gets surprise delivery of Coors Light

Sometimes, the best way to get what you want is simply to ask for it.

An elderly woman in Pennsylvania recently made headlines for her simple request to help her get through the coronavirus lockdown. She didn’t ask for much, she just wanted more beer.

Well, her request has been answered – and then some – after Molson Coors saw her plea go viral on social media.

Fox News previously reported on Olive Veronesi, a resident from Seminole, Penn., who was photographed sending a simple message to her neighbors: “I need more beer.” In the photo, she held the sign in one hand and a can of Coors Light.

When asked about her choice of beer, she said, “It’s something to relax, ya know. I think it’s nice, something for a young lady.”

After the story caught the attention of social media and news outlets, a lot of people saw Veronesi’s request, including people who work at Molson Coors.

The company decided to take action and sent Veronesi 10 cases of Coors Light and had them delivered directly to her doorstep, 6 WJAC reports.

Coors Light uploaded a new photo of Veronesi to its Twitter account, showing her holding up a new sign that says, “Got more beer!” A stack of cases of beer almost as tall as the woman sits just slightly out the frame.

FOR OHIO: COLUMBUS CONVENTION CENTER BEING PREPPED FOR 1,100 COVID-19 PATIENTS

We're living in uncertain times during the COVID-19 outbreak, but Ohio is gonna get through it together – and have some fun along the way.

As the outbreak nears its peak, Columbus is ready for a surge in patients, converting the Greater Columbus Convention Center to an alternate care facility that could house more than 1,000 coronavirus patients if necessary.

The beds and partitions have been set up, though it doesn't yet have necessary equipment like ventilators or pharmacy space yet. But when given the word, it can be ready to roll in 72 hours.

Similar work is being done at Case Western University's Health Education Campus in Cleveland and at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati. They're currently empty, and Mike DeWine hopes they stay that way.

"Candidly, we hope we never have to use these," Gov. Mike DeWine said about the facilities.

We candidly agree, but it's sure better to have them stay empty than to wish you had them and don't.

might have to read more of the details... but may have got excited for nothin
feel bad for restaurants who lost all their uncooked food.. devious ins companies just happen to exclude liability for pandemics...
makes sense, after all we have pandemics all the time... like 1918 for the last one... bastards

Clarification example: Avg. monthly payroll taken from Feb-July 2019 = $200k per month. PPP loan = $500k. So, if you use $375k for payroll in July and August combined, the other $125k can be used for the expenses you mention. All of it will be forgiven if you use it like this.

Move quickly, 200 of 350 billion was gone on Monday. They're requesting more but that's not a given.

Your math is exactly right, but last I was informed you have to spend the money by June 30th (as if they'll get the money out in time).

We've got our loan number. Just waiting for the bank verification and loan documents - going to read very closely before signing anything.

The actual documentation released by SBA says it has to be spent 8 weeks after funding, so it sounds like everyone’s clock might be different? A bit confusing to me. Whatever amount is not forgiven ends up as a 2 year loan at 1% interest. Can’t lose either way.

They are making this shit up as they go and keep changing the rules every other day. Sincerely, I wish you all good luck with it and I hope it works they way it’s supposed to.

Fortunately I don't own the business (no one does, 501c3), I manage the finances (among other things).

We're doing this to avoid layoffs. So far, we haven't laid off anyone. I plan to keep it that way.

So I may end up being the beneficiary of some pretty blatant lobbying, and right now I'll take whatever I can get. There are rumblings that Disney is working directly with the state government to have Cast Members automatically enrolled in the unemployment system. I mean, on the back end, it makes sense. They have access to every piece of information needed for unemployment, and automatically transferring that info is far less likely to result in mistakes holding up my application than me trying to type in all the info and praying to god I have all my financial ducks in a row that they want. But it does feel a little scummy that I might get to skip the hassle and virtual holdup thanks to a large donation to DeSantis' campaign. It's like if you have a decent enough employee record keeping system you should be able to provide that to the state for enrollment in the event of large scale unemployment situations to begin with. Maybe this will serve as a catalyst for that kind of change...hey, a man can dream, right?

Either way, fuck that dumbass, and fuck this damn virus.
