In general, I agree, but this isn’t a 2008/9 where the one’s actually committing the crime/fraud were bailed out. Big difference when the government is shutting you down through no fault of your own.

That's a fair point, but the reason doesn't really matter to me. People have made a ton of money from their business over the years, but now when they might need to actually put money back IN, they are begging for help. Nah.....not for me.

EDIT - to be clear, I've got no problem with businesses that NEED these funds. My issue is with individuals and businesses that have plenty of funding to keep things running but are still grabbing this "free money".

Part of the loan application is the following:
Current economic uncertainty makes this loan request necessary to support the ongoing operations of the Applicant
There are a whole bunch of people that would be just fine without this money but are applying for it anyway. And that's my issue.

For a service based business like yours, I totally get it. But for us guys in manufacturing, just the cost of raw materials is staggering. Then, I have to finance everyone. I’ve got 1.4 million on my AR and only 300k on my AP. Then, the government closes the retailers that owe me the 1.4 million. So, I can either sit here holding my dick, or use this money to get me through to the other side. BTW, I have no issue paying it back either, not really asking anyone to forgive it.

Let’s not act like you aren’t sitting there holding your dick anyway.

No doubt there are a lot of different situations out there and I'm 100% on-board with fast tracking long-term, low interest loans to pretty much any business that asks for it.

I do admit that I'm a bit (maybe a lot) peevish about the whole thing right now due to the number of calls and emails I've gotten from people asking about me about it. People that make more than I do, living in houses that cost 4x more than mine, driving cars that cost 3x as much as mine......but now when shit gets real, they hop in line to get their handout. And then those same people will bitch about people on welfare and unemployment.

Maybe I just need to go home and have a stiff drink?

As a Jew, the most ridiculous thing about the conspiracy theories directed at us is the idea that a group of Jews of any size could agree on any course of action long enough to execute it and, on the blind chicken finding corn chance that they somehow actually succeeded, not broadcast the success to the entire world.
In my world, the Indians replaced the Jews (diamonds). We welcome your return to prominence, if you catch my drift. In IT staffing, however, we’d like to keep it status quo.

the real security risk would come when the idea failed and everyone in the group let it be known to the world that they told him not to do it that way.

Wait, is “I told you so” a Jewish thing or a native Americans thing? Ever since Blazing Saddles I get them mixed up.
