My degree is in science. I can list dozens of BS "science" that was absolutely gospel at one time:

CFC's were destroying the Ozone
Acid Rain
There would be no rain forests left after 1989
The coming Ice Age already mentioned.
Miami and New York would be under water by 2000

And on and on and on with the BS "science" that was whole heartedly agreed to because there was a "consensus" among "scientists".
please link the "consensus" agreements within the scientific community for these three:

There would be no rain forests left after 1989
The coming Ice Age already mentioned.
Miami and New York would be under water by 2000

No one is questioning the foolishness of the conspiracists. Flat earth, moon landings, 9/11, etc. But, when the government is involved, and specific to health related issues, it’s tough to trust the “science.” Food pyramids, cholesterol, EPA....we can go on forever about their chicanery. Don’t you agree?
food pyramids, cholesterol, epa...

if you think the direct issue here is government involvement, then i think you're missing the actual heart of the matter: money in politics. namely, corporate influence on government policy. i mean, you can tie the faulty food pyramid and cholesterol concerns directly to corporate influence on government policy. the sugar lobby didn't like that science revealed their product to be the main cause of health problems, so they wielded their money and power to make fat the bad guy. ergo, the food pyramid with grains on the bottom and later on the fad of low-fat foods and diets.

people love to make government the bad guy. and, sure, they're not wrong. just remember whose hand is up the government's ass whenever you see the politician's lips move.

Are you two gentlemen referring to the stimulus package of $1,200 for single and $2,400 for married...or something else?
Something else. The parameters are unclear, but what it sounds like they're doing is when you get the loan, if you maintain your employees, you can offset 8 weeks of that loan against 8 weeks expenses to stay open. But it's going to be used by people who still have a functioning business.

don't assume that the following is referring to any particular person. it's definitely not. no way. not at all.

anyway, i'm picturing a man sitting before a wood board. a hole in the shape of a square is cut out of the board. next to the board is a box full of shapes: circles, triangles, squares, rectangles, pentagons, hexagons, ovals, crescents, and so on and so on. the man is asked to find the piece that best fits the hole in the wood board.

now i'm picturing that man solving the puzzle by sheer brute force.

Nah, that's the stimulus one. I've changed my tune and now I'm bitching about the SBA "loan" that gets forgiven.

The one you have to jump through 20 hoops to maybe get 'forgiven', but Banks will charge 4% interest on a loan that taxpayer backs 100% of the risk?

While Fed gets a 4T slush fund with no accountability for Boeing, Lockheed, United, Tesla, et. al. that they'll get with 0 strings attached?

Just for the record, we're still okay rounding up Michigan fans, yeah?

Apparently theyre not far behind NY... may not be the worst idea.
Or just nuke it.

And ill take all of that over what we had before.

Side note, fuck the New York Times. Went there to get specifics on the stimulus package to get ready to respond to some posts, but for the third time I've gone there they foce you to register just to read their shit. The only reason reason I went to that shit site was because it was the first hit on Google for my search (followed by--guess who--Forbes, Politico, and CNN.

Not a credible source anyway.
