Like it or not Coop's team won the NC in 2002. Granted, they were coached by Tress (very well at that), but they were Coop's players.

Wait! It's sacreligious to give any ounce of credit to Coop for 2002. At least that's what they said in 2003. :roll1:

Maybe the humiliation in the desert changed some minds.

Thankfully AG found a coach to coach them up to their potential for once. #13 & #85 were pretty key additions to "Coop's players."

Nope, your act hasn't changed.

Wrong. Tressel took Coop's players and made them his own team. I give Cooper zip credit for winning the 2002 NC.

I wonder how many Florida fans are giving Ron Zook credit for this year's NC... after all, most of the players on this year's team he recruited. My guess is not too many fans acknowledge this because he, like Cooper, couldn't put it all together on Saturday on a consistent basis.

For the most part, Cooper was pretty consistent on Saturdays. It was what he did with that weekend before Thanksgiving and in January that earned our ire...

I think (and I know this has been said before (I'm really just padding my post count) that this is one of Tressel's greatest strengths--he identifies talent and utilizes it to the utmost. Coop and Earle have a hell of a lot to offer the program, and I'm glad they're able (and willing) to help out.

I always tell my undergrads that a failed experiment is an opportunity to learn, and these former coaches, although many would label them as failures, speak with the voice of experience. We can learn from their mistakes, as well as their successes. I cannot say how impressed I am that they'd be willing to help out in this way. Nobody is ever amicably fired, you know? To work through that and continue to contribute speaks very well of their character.

After re-reading my post - my wording was poorly chosen because your response is what I meant.

Many many times alot of visuals were shown of John cooper chewing on some finger nails during his games. Was that some kind of expression that he was a bit nervous? That was the impression that I was left with. That was quite a contrast between him and the calm feeling that Tressel always shows.

For whatever reason, when I envision Earle and Coop sharing an office with their own desks, I think of that SNL skit where Cheney uses the President's desk in the Oval Office, and Dubya has a much smaller, little kiddie desk to the side.
