Cook, Conley, and Oden

IMO

Oden plays from the get go .. takes a monster physical beating but learns a ton .. teams will throw their designated thug at him to see if they can intimidate the rookie

Conley makes a lot of money.. and warms up a seat on a bench all year.. should go later in the draft.. which means a better team.. and better teams don't play rookie point guards.. especially in playoffs

Cook gets to find out what the D-league is all about... and maybe makes it to the NBA end of next year as a pick up or more probable year or two thereafter... this one still intrigues me... I don't see where he demonstrated that he is anywhere close to ready... at this time...

not being negative... trying to be realistic...

By Mark Gokavi

Friday, April 20, 2007

With one college start to his credit, Ohio State's Daequan Cook may not seem like a typical first-round draft pick.
But at least one NBA scout says Cook could impress teams at the Orlando, Fla., pre-draft camp and in subsequent workouts. The same goes for point guard Mike Conley Jr., who stands out in a weak point-guard class.
