Is this thread all fucked up for anyone else? (When it's on the "new posts" screen, it lists 2 before 1 and the parens are screwy too)

Bucky wins. Prizes to be awarded when I return.

However, I did find out that it is not exactly ON THE AMAZON RIVER, it is actually on the Rio Negro which is a few miles upstream from where they merge.

If you go in the water, wear a condom. If you saw Anaconda, you'll know why.

Bucky Katt got it. I back in the late 1800s when they discovered the rubber trees it was really a "boom town"; and needless to say made a some people very rich.

Bucky gets the medal, 1000 vdollars and the greenies.

I know this is probably wrong, I just enjoy typing it.

It is always neat to say "Titty-cock-ah" too.

Greenies to both of you.

Alexandria, Egypt.

Alexandria is really a GREAT guess. It is basically on two famous bodies of water and had one of the seven wonders (the lighthouse at Alexandria) of the ancient world.

I'm not sure that the cruise ship pictured could get up the Nile to Luxor/Thebes but they do have river boat cruises that go there. I'd like to do that trip someday.

Greenies to you.

Damned difficult for cruise ships to visit the Caspian Sea - it is land-locked.

Good point. Greenies to you.

Actually I was thinking (as you might guess) along these lines ...

When ScriptOhio asks for a lake that can be visited by a cruise ship that comes in from the ocean - or sea - and then can return to the same.

There are a couple of examples that come to mind.

Gatun Lake - which is part of the Panama Canal system - deep enough for cruise ships, and they do in fact visit the same.

Guaiba (sp) Lake - which is part of Porto Alegre. I'm not entirely sure that cruise ships could navigate to the open sea from there, but it looks like that would be possible as the Port is located at the very top of the lake.

Gatun Lake was the lake that I was thinking of.
More greenies to you.

A very good precaution. They told us about the Candiru fish. In addition to the condom you also need a butt plug.

Thanks to everyone for playing.
