I lived in The Metro East of St. Louis (O'Fallon, Il exactly) for 5 years and would take the Metro-Link train into St. Louis-Lambert Airport whenever I travelled. It went right through the heart of East St. Louis. I always thought Youngstown-Warren was a decaying wasteland...but old E St. Louie made the Mahoning Valley look like Shangri-La.
