First of all, thanks so much to everyone who posted in this thread, much appreciated. The best wedding present I will get on Saturday will be a victory over Iowa.

Its been a very busy few months for me with planning a wedding and buying a new house, amazingly I still found time to post on BP (mostly at work):biggrin:

I went to around 6-7 wedding this summer, and I don't know of one where the groom got to pick the date...most of my friends were just told to show at the altar at a certain time and date. That was the extent of their involvement in the decisions making. :biggrin:<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

wadc....game starts at noon....don't have to be at the church until 1:30....enough time to see the first half.....listen to the radio on the 10 minute drive to the church.....half hour for the cermony at the most......so I will miss some of the third quarter..........big screen tv at the reception......all is good.:biggrin:

Sounds like you need a radio in your pocket with some headphones. Then you wouldn't miss any of the game. Unless, of course, the future Mrs. 44820 would get pissed about that. In that case, you need your best man or groomsman or whoever is closeby to have the radio, and to give 10-second updates by writting notes on a 3x5 index card and holding it where you can see it. It would work, but you still have to pay attention to the ceremony. I can see something like this working out:

Minister Dude: Dearly Beloved, blah blah blah blah blah.....
Best Man: (scribble scribble scribble)
Minister Dude: blah blah matrimony blah blah words words words....
Best Man: (scribble scribble scribble)

I was at a wedding years ago when in the middle of the ceremony the priest asked if any of the guys in back with headphones knew the LSU score. Both the bride and groom were LSU grads and it was the talk of the wedding before and after the ceremony. The priest was pretty funny guy.:)
