Congrats to the MSU hockey team!

Fired up! Ready to go!
They beat Boston College last night 3-1 in the national championship. It was an exciting ending! MSU scored with :18 left in the final period (and then again on an uncontested goal at the buzzer).

Deja blue

In the end, BC loses out on NCAA title

ST. LOUIS -- With 1.2 seconds remaining, after Michigan State had sealed the NCAA championship with an empty-net goal by center Chris Mueller, Boston College defenseman Tim Filangieri leaned over his skates as if he had been sucker-punched in the gut.

I tuned in just in time to see them tie the game, and watched the last 10 minutes to see them win it. The guy that scored the gamewinner with 18.9 seconds left (Abdelkader) had hit the post with about 30 seconds left.

Great game and congrats to Sparty. After watching the first period and half I was convinced that MSU was going to get run off the ice. But MSU battled back and showed a lot of heart. To tie this into tOSU hockey, Results for BCS schools in the CCHA:

Notre Dame: CCHA regular season and tournament champs. NCAA quarterfinals loss to MSU.

Michigan: CCHA regular season and tournmanet runner-ups. NCAA first round loss.

Michigan St: CCHA regular season 4th place finish and CCHA tournament 3rd place finish. NCAA National champions.

Ohio State: CCHA regular season 7th place finish and a first round loss in the CCHA tournament. Losing overall record at 15-17-5.

One of these programs is not like the other ones.
