Confirmed: Tuberville out at Auburn

Strictly in my opinion:
Trying to avoid scaring away other coaches... If I'm an up and coming coach, i.e. Brian Kelly, I could switch to Auburn with a huge pay raise, and then risk probably being fired in a year if I lose to the #1 ranked 'bama team... Or I could wait a year and wait for the inevitable job elsewhere to open up. I'd wait.. Gotta make it sound like he left on his own.

until young up and coming coach realizes that schools don't pay out a $6 mil buyout to a guy that quits.

You know what, I really believe that you have to do a George Costanza close-captioning in your mind when hearing either Tuberville OR the Auburn AD talk about Auburn Football. Whatever they say, think the opposite.

Was not too long ago that Tuberville was asked if he felt his job was under more fire today (just before the Iron Bowl) or during the last major down-turn. His answer was - not then and not now. Now remember the then he is talking about was when the Auburn AD was flying to different airports to meet with prospective coaches - no pressure then? BS.

As for the AD - well consider this: AD Jacobs claims Auburn are paying Tuberville the $5.1 Million buy-out, despite the head coach resigning, on which payment he and the Auburn President agree - because it is "the right thing to do."

Yeah, right, buy me another season-ticket package while you are at it. THey are paying it because they have to. Because they presented Tuberville with a resign or you are fired message.

Neither the Head Coach, nor the Auburn Administration sound credible to me.

(This might also have something to do with 5 top recruits jumping ship - got to do drowning rat control).

Marv Robon isn't one of your personal advisors is he?

Amen.

TT won a major battle against the Auburn boosters/admin years ago and don't think for one minute they've forgotten or forgiven him for it.

The 5 recruits Auburn no longer has on their list (realistically)

4* QB Cotton

4* DE Robinson

Atchison a 3* SLB

4* DT Coleman

3* S Conner

Wow they couldn't get a break, there's not even any balance in what they're losing. Losing 3 D and 2 O recruits isn't nearly as bad as 4 D and 1 offensive in my opinion. Especially when the one offensive recruit is a QB.

Granted I don't know the slightest thing about their class, but assuming it was something like 12 offensive recruits (1 QB) and 12 defensive, this really puts it off balance.

Right now the lists for auburn still show QB Cotton on board, subject to change I'd guess if Cotton doesn't mesh with the incoming HC.

All others listed gone, another WLB - Collins (3*) as a "Soft Verbal."

As listed in the "Team Ranking" section they show 22 commits on Scout, (But only 21 in their commit list) for a #12 ranking.

Current Defensive to Offensive Balance - 15 to 7. (14:7 if Cotton bolts). Previous Balance 15 : 11?
