Concussions, CTE, and other traumatic brain injuries in football

It’s just an unpopular opinion. One where statistics etc aren’t necessary so I’m not sure what there is to prove wrong or right.

I just believe largely (not the ones lied to by doctors) football players know/knew the risks concussions carry/carried.
It’s not an unpopular opinion. That takes a well reasoned argument.

You are just talking to talk.

Eh not really.

I’m sorry but I just don’t accept that we are too stupid to understand football is hard on your brain.

Once again, teams who hid or had their physicians lie to get players to play is not what I’m talking about.
There are degrees though. I remember that in “They Call Me Assassin” Jack Tatum differentiated between the violence of football, which is part of the game but not the point of it, and boxing, which he seemed to consider to be insane. What people are saying here is that in the past you could know there was risk in football but still have much less ability to accurately evaluate the magnitude of the risk than you have today. As for teenagers, they generally can’t assess risk at all, no matter how much accurate information you give them, even compared to the rest of us.
