I have my laptop connected to my LCD TV right now. It's awesome, except for the display not fitting on my TV properly. It looks like the display is too large for the screen. Any way to fix this?

Right-click the desktop and see if you get any graphics options appearing on the menu. Depending on the video card, some will give you a menu that allows you to change certain video settings when you send the output to an external source. One option would be to make the display fit the TV screen.

Almost sounds like it's tryin to display in 1080p or something. or the tv thinks it is. that is usually what will cause that. Have a media center pc that had the same prob. I just had to jack with the resolution a bit before it worked fine. if you are using hdmi, you should be able to set it to 720p (1280X720).

Download Powerstrip.

EnTech Taiwan | Utilities | PowerStrip

It's free to try, I believe $30 to buy (although I used it for years and never paid for it, it just popped a shareware nag screen at startup). Worked like a charm for me when I had a PC hooked up to my 46" TV a few years back. It essentially moves all those geometry options you would normally have in a PC monitor over to the graphics driver, so that you can work around the fact those options don't exist on most TVs (pincushion, trapezoid, h and v scaling, positioning, picture zoom, etc ...).
