Comparisons between LSU v OSU offensive personnel

So three big games where he ends with a great catch supposedly makes him an elite receiver??? I dont get it either????

No, those 3 games made him an LSU legend and the ultimate clutch receiver.
In the ASU game, it was the first game after Hurricane Katrina and former President's Bush and Clinton were in attendance. He caught a 39 yard TD in the corner of the endzone falling out on 4th down and 10 with a minute to go in a very emotional game.
In the 06 Tenn game he caught a pass on 4th down and 6 to extend the game winning drive and he caught the game winning touchdown on 3rd and goal (down by 3) with 9 seconds in the game left in Neyland Stadium.
In the Bama game he caught a short pass on 4th and 4 with LSU down by 7 with 2 minutes to go in the game and he shook some defenders and took it to the house to tie the game up. If we lose that game we don't even win the SEC west.
And those are just his 3 biggest catches; he was the #1 WR recruit in high school for a reason.

Well when a guy hasn't started a full year, I honestly don't see how LSU fans expect OSU fans to give him so much credit, when you don't give Beanie any.
For the record, 99% of LSU fans give Beanie all the credit in the world. It's just a very small portion (One guy of which who is here) who thinks he's third rate.

Well, on Jan 7th all of the OSU fans will understand why Doucet is considered an elite receiver. BTW, all 25 of LSU's seniors will be receiving their degrees. I think that is pretty good...

Ewwww...how cryptic. :roll1:

I feel the same way about Wells. I just do not see anything special because I can not judge his performance against teams I barely know. To me he looks no different than any other SEC running back we have faced this year. We face running backs ranging from 225 to 235 that run sub 4.4 in the 40. Now if he comes out on Jan 7th and rips LSU a new one, I will understand what OSU fans are saying better because I know the speed and talent of our team.

You just do not understand the hype behind Doucet until you can measure him against something you know very well. Like OSU fans with Wells, LSU fans have seen this man for 4 years against very good talent. 90% of the time he wins the battle. He makes incredible plays in the clutch.

Do yourself a favor and search Beanie Wells on youtube.

And by god you are acting like Doucet is the end-all savior of the world. Who even knows if he will get the chance to make a play with Jenkins all over him? Hell, it's been a long while since Malcom's had a pass completed on him when he's in man coverage.

Granted, Doucet did miss 5 games. But, he has not had a 100 yard game all season. My most shining memory of Doucet is his illegal formation penalty on a should-have-been pass touchdown to Jacob Hester against Arkansas. His yards per catch average is just straight up terrible. He has one 100 yard game his whole career.

Still, he has NFL talent (Though his stock is falling). And, he shouldn't be underestimated. On that same note, he isn't amazing. I personally think Brandon LaFell is the best receiver on the LSU squad (And a lot better at that).
