Comparisons between LSU v OSU defensive personnel

Hester just has a superior work ethic according to everyone which is why he continues to hold the starting job without as much talent as Williams and Scott.

Combine superior work ethic with superior talent and you have Beanie Wells

I've watched about 3-4 LSU games this year and not overly impressed with Hester, he's a tough back, good for short yardage situations, but he just doesn't combine the same kind of punishing style and big play ability that Beanie has...hell you guys can't even decide who the best running back at your school is, we know we have someone special in Chris Wells

LSU obviously has some great players and at some positions are superior (Dorsey being the best example), but to think that LSU has two backs superior to Beanie Wells is flat out moronic...

Hester is a 1000 yard back sharing time with two potential all-american runners. Hester does not have the "shake" that Wells possesses. At this point, they are equal in production and tanacity. Wells has more upside potiential to his career and will be playing on Sundays. Hester has a shot to play on Sundays but I think he has gotten the MAX out of his athletic talent. Watching clips they look like they have equal speed.

Apparently if u had read, Wells has 450 more yards, making his production better. And potential, potentially next year Maurice Wells and Brandon Saine could be all americans. I mean maybe not Mo, but Saine is a beast playing behind him. Sorry but ive watched a lot of LSU games and Hester just doesn't impress me like Beanie Wells does. Even the people down here in FL, give more props to Beanie Wells then to Hester, and those are people who will be rooting for the Sec(LSU) on january 7th.

And Wells runs over people, he doesn't need to shake people.

LOL, you are relying on Florida people for opinion!!! They would not know what a good running back looks like becuase they have not had one for a LOOONG time.

Seriously, Wells has more upside than Hester. Hester is MAXED out on his abilities, but for what they do in their repective system, Hester is just as good as Wells. Keiland Williams is just as good as Wells... I just do not see much advantage in this department for OSU...

Everyone is a "potential" All-American. I'm not going diss Hester's "tenacity" because what I've seen form him he is indeed a hard-nosed runner. But to say "they are equal in production" is not even close to reality. Beanie has more TDs and far more yardage (season, per game, and per carry). I wouldn't mind having Hester on our roster...not at all. But I can tell you right now, if he were on our roster, he wouldn't be the starter...

Damn...

We almost got a "CREMEPUFF" out of him there.

Lots of future NFL talent on both defenses. On defense, there is more future NFL players than non-future NFL players. That is astounding.

I'm pretty much reiterating what others have said, but just to quantify...
Chris Wells averages 5.8 ypc, Hester 5.0.
Mo Wells has 108 carries, Williams 68.
(Espn doesn't go deeper than 2 players in their stats..)
